London holiday - July 2012

We flew from Rome to London on July 4, and spent four nights in London, staying in an apartment in Northumberland Avenue, not far from Trafalgar Square. The weather was not the best, but id did not stop us from visiting the usual sites. Here are some iconic London images.

Dad and Michael went to Wimbledon on a dreary afternoon and managed to catch 5 games before play was stopped due to rain...  The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent with the rest of the crowd watching the game in the Centre Court on the external screen...

The second disappointment was that we were 3 days too early for the James Bond exhibition at the Barbican - all we got to see was the DB5 at the entrance!
The boys and dad climbed the 530 steps to the top of the dome in St Paul's cathedral, eventually emerging at the external balcony at the very top.  The boys walked around nonchalantly admiring the view, whilst trying to keep dry.  Dad, who has absolutely no head for heights, eventually did a circuit of the dome, hugging the wall the entire way...

Sightseeing can be exhausting.  Here's the boys sleeping in, and then being pampered with tea in bed...
