Rowing camp - January 2014

Michael had a rowing camp at Taree in January, organised by Leichhardt Rowing Club, and Philip went along to help.  There were 13 junior rowers, mostly in their teens - 8 girls and 5 boys.  We stayed in a farmhouse situated on an arm of the River Manning, about 10 km from Taree.  A most beautiful location.

Mornings were a magic time at the farm, and the team were invariably out on the water by 5.30am.

The team were set a cracking training schedule by coaches Frank and Kerry. Typically up at 5.00am, and on the water by 5.30am.  A brief rest after breakfast and them off to Taree pool to swim a cool 40 laps.  Late afternoons were either a bike ride or technical rowing sessions.  Every third afternoon was a rest period.

At the end of the training camp, the team participated in the Taree regatta,  on Friday 10th to Sunday 12th January.
