2018 has come and gone - all to quickly!  Here are a few snaps of highlights of the year.

Teenagers no more!
The boys are no longer teenagers, having turned  20 on May 1
How time has flown - it does not seem that long ago they were in their humidi-cribs

Both have finished second year at Uni - Michael doing law at UTS, and Matt doing sociology at Macquarie.

The 4 of us had a special celebration dinner at the Palisade hotel at the Rocks.

Genevieve once again demonstrated her creativity with a Magnum cake!

Skiing
The boys had a few trips away
during the year, including a few days skiing at Thredbo,
with Bowen M and
Tom T.

The annual Arakoon pilgrimage
Genevieve and Philip maintained tradition, spending a week camping at Arakoon National Park in February.  It was as beautiful as ever, especially the sunsets over the bay..

A better place to cook has yet to be found!

The local wildlife were as curious as ever!

A trip to Broome
Genevieve and I treated ourselves to a few days in Broome in August.  We went with our blind friend Christo.  It is a magic place, especially with the huge tides, the turquoise sea, the contrasting red rocks, and the sun setting over the sea - a rarity for us east coasters!

Rugby
Matt had a mixed year playing rugby.  He played in West Harbour 1st Colts, but got a bad head knock a few weeks into the season.  He was given 5 weeks off to recover, but decided to take the rest of the year off.  Here's a couple of action shots of him playing against Randwick and Sydney Uni.  Thanks to Jeremy Brennan for the pictures!

Rowing
Michael had a successful year rowing.  He was accepted into the UTS Elite athlete program, and has been training at UTS-Haberfield, which luckily is only a short bike ride away.

Matt's eventful trip
Matt picked himself up a 2005 Mazda 4WD early in the year, and decided to go on a bit of a trip early December with his mate Hugh.  The plan was to get to Birdsville through southern Queensland and head back along the Birdsville track.  That was until the heavens opened when they got to Charleville, and the roads were proclaimed impassable for days...   So plan B was to head back into NSW and follow the Darling.  This first picture is a classic.

We tend to spend a fair bit of time in the back yard.  It has sort of become our sanctuary.
